Meet the Team: Alyssa Lloyd, GM of Product & Innovation

Meet Alyssa, our amazing GM of Product & Innovation (and secret Savage Garden stan).

Alyssa is in charge of all things product (obviously) but plays an integral role in many other parts of the Payreq business.  Read below to find out what makes her tick.

Alyssa Lloyd, GM of Product & Innovation

What are your primary responsibilities?

On a day to day basis I work closely with our development & sales team to manage our backlog and bring new features to our customers and users.

What inspired you to join Payreq?

I’d worked closely with the Payreq team to provide bill presentment solutions in my previous role. I’d watched them grow as an organisation for a few years and really believe in the product vision. When I was looking for the next step and an opportunity came up it was the logical choice!

What do you enjoy most about being part of Payreq?

We have a fun close-knit team that are passionate about solving deep seated problems and making our customers experience better. Everyone brings a different experience to the table to help solve those challenges.

What is your professional background and expertise that you bring to the team?

I joined Payreq with more than 10 years’ experience in personalised communications & fulfilment; specialising in data management/generation, document composition and systems support.

What is your life motto? Or what would it be if you had one?

Less is more.

What are some notable accomplishments or projects you have been involved in throughout your career?

Designing & delivering a solution that provides a personalised reports to 5.5 million Australians via their mobile/internet banking was a huge highlight!

What motivates you at work?

Having a problem to solve – if it’s for a customer and I get to see their smile at the end of it’s even better.

What excites you about the future of Payreq and the industry?

Technology is rapidly evolving and the need for secure, trusted solutions has never been clearer. I think the industry (CCM/EBPP) must work together to improve customer experience or we’re all going to suffer from information overload – letting customers choose how and when they’re communicated with has never been more important.

What advice would you give to aspiring professionals looking to succeed in product management?

This is a tough one – product management isn’t the same in every organisation and I think there is a less traditional pathway compared to other roles. What has helped me succeed? Connecting with and listening; your users, customers, team. They hold all the answers.

What is your favourite movie?

The Shining. “All work and no play…”

What is the first single/album you bought?

I’d like to say something really cool but it’s a joint first between Hanson & Savage Garden.
